Bush's military service.  Okay, so stay with me here, cuz I'm gonna lay down some disjointed stuff, and then tie it all together again.  It has to do with Bush's military career in the media.  And it has to do with the fact that I believe that this is a non-issue... and HELLO, wake the hell up!

Okay... I got your attention...  so stay with me here... So most "liberals" are in opposition to the war in Iraq.  They don't want our "sons and daughters" shedding blood, or having their blood shed, on account of oil, freedom, or supposed WMD.

Similarly, most liberals (and yes, I'm using that term as a gross generalization, sue me...) were opposed also to the Viet Nam war.

Okay... you still with me... point number three.  I have seen several articles in the media (read: liberal biased media) about parents who completely oppose the war, and want to do anything they can to save their kids from having to go to Iraq.  Case in point, the mother of the triplet girls who all joined the army.  I specifically read an article where she stated that she would personally fly to Iraq and bring her daughter home, if the military said she had to go back.

Okay... so I'm trying to show that parents have strong feelings about seeing their offspring go off to war.  Especially wars that they are opposed to.

So, if that is the case... why is everyone giving Pres. Bush a hard time about being in the National Guard.  His parents had strong feelings about seeing their son die at war.  His parents did everything they could to deter him from being drafted and sent to Viet Nam where he might be in harm's way.  They were successful, and he ended up in the Air National Guard (or whatever).

The real point here being: the military careers of Presidential candidates are non-issues!  They're only an issue from the frosting point of view.  If the candidate served his/her country well, then that is bonus points (i.e. Sen McCain).  But if they served not at all (i.e. John Edwards), or in the Guard, or whatever... NON-issue!

Get over it and get to the real issues!
