Catching Up... So it's been a really long time since I blogged... Well, okay, it's been a couple of weeks. Lots has happened, so I can't go into the full detail of everything, but let me just do a little catching up.
New Job. I took a contract position at Cisco. It's a very short contract (6 weeks) and the pay is only okay (not great, not insulting) but I figure that it's a good thing to get me thru the holidays, and pay December and January rent. It of course gets me back in the doors at Cisco, who is always hiring contractors, so I think that I could parlay it into something else. Also, and this really is a big factor for me, it allows me to hopefully help out some of my buddies at Intacct who got laid off. See unlike the management at Intacct I actually care about the people who worked for me and with me. Oh hell... don't get me started on a vent blog about the management at Intacct!!
Thanksgiving. Went to AZ for Turkey Day. It was a great trip! My family (Mom, Dad, Sister and I) drove down to Tucson to hook up with my Brother's wife's family. Bev (Hal's wife) has a sister Barbara who lives in Tucson. So she hosted the dinner. Bev's sisters (Bonnie and Lisa), mom (Maria), Neice and Nephew from one sister (Lacie and Carlito), and Neice from brother (Stephanie), all drove down from Phoenix. Hal brought some guys from the Army base. And also, Bev's boss and hubby (Anne and Spencer) came along. It was a great dinner with tons of food! I've posted some photo's if anyone reads this, and happens to be interested... just click here: Thanskgiving Photos
Mexico On Friday my mom, bev's mom (who is Mexican), my sister and I went to Nogales, Mexico. It's about an hour drive from Tucson. Esther wanted to buy some plates and stuff, and we wanted to take Maria along to possibly negotiate some bargins. I was a blast listening to her. Okay, so my spanish is really rusty, but if I'm around it long enough I can understand about 70-80% of the conversation. So I would listen to Maria tell stories about how Esther was getting married, and she was poor, and that Maria was paying for most of the wedding, and wanted to buy her some dishes... I mean it was awesome. And all the time she would say..."Really! What's the lowest price." And when the shop owners would say an outrageous price she would just laugh at them and say, "I'm not some American tourist! I know where you get this stuff." It was really fun.
Well now I'm bored with myself and this blog... so I'll end there for now. Hopefully I'll blog again before the end of the week.
