20 Year High School Reunion. November 8th and 9th was my 20 yr. reunion. It was really really fun. I missed my 10 yr. reunion because I was in Spain and too poor to buy a plane ticket home and back. So this was my first reunion. It was awesome. The funny thing about reunions is that you automatically go back to the relationship you had with these people in HS, cause your brain only has that reference point. So the people who bugged you then, sort of still bug... etc. This of course isn't the case with people who you've continued to have contact with over the years, but those people aren't the reason you go back anyway.

One thing that I did, and I'm happy that I did... I made a conscious effort to put aside any predjudices or old feelings. I set a goal to talk to every single alumni that was there. I only missed about 4-5 out of a couple of hundred.

So one thing that a lot of people said, is that at the 10 yr. there was still a lot of "competition", like "what do you do for a job?" or "where did you go to college?"... but at this one, there wasn't much of that, because by this time everyone is sort of into their lives, and really just want to see old friends. The other thing was that at the 10 yr. most of the women were pregnant, or just had a kid... so in general the guys looked better than the girls. This time it was the opposite. All the girls are now full blown women! I was so impressed with it all. Our homecoming queen has had 7 kids since high school, and I can honestly say she looks better now than she did in high school. My 8th grade sweetheart, was there, and she's had 4 kids and been married 18 years. She looked AWESOME. Not cutsie like she did then, but really a mature woman. Good for all of them!

Anyway... it was really fun, and I can't wait for the next one.
