I started a diet on March 30th. I have a condition that my doctor refers to as "lard ass"...

Actually, my starting the diet came about for 2 reasons, I didn't want to make a fool out of myself on my ski trip to Colorado, and this year is my 20 year high school reunion. I hadn't skied in about 10 years. So two weeks before the trip I decided to go on a strict diet, and to run repeats up stairs to try to stregthen my legs. I told myself, "you can do anything for 2 weeks." With a couple of exceptions, I didn't really give myself any restrictions on "what" I could eat, but rather on "how much" I could eat. At work we have a full snack machine with all kinds of chips, candy bars, and various goodies, and also a refridgerator with any kind of soda or juice that you could want. So the two restrictions I put on myself were, 1) Nothing from the breakroom except water. 2) No soda outside of work either. I then went to Whole Foods Market and bought some protein powder. For two weeks I had a delicious shake for breakfast (protein powder, banana, ice, non-fat milk, blender), another for lunch, and a sensible dinner. In those two weeks I lost 9 pounds.

After the trip, I decided that I would continue on... Since I was a skinny jock kid in high school, I set my sites on losing 63 pounds by mid-november. I weigh myself basically every morning and track the results in a spreadsheet. I also keep a running total on my whiteboard at work.

Here are my basic goals: April -- 15 lbs (actual: 16 lbs); May -- 12 lbs (actual to date: 1 lb); June -- 8 lbs; July -- 8 lbs; August -- 8 lbs; Sept -- 6 lbs; Oct -- 6 lbs; Nov -- 4 lbs

So anyway... today I put up a new total: -17 pounds

I will keep everyone informed as the weeks go by.
