Went to see Crosby Stills Nash and Young last Friday night... hmmmm... how to put it...

It was fun AND funny. Basically it was a fun show. They played a lot of hits. They played some newer stuff. Neil went crazy a couple of times. Stills and Neil went off on a 10 minute back and forth solo jam. The sound was well mixed. The vocals were passable, BUT...

these guys are OLD. and they have some funny idiosyncracies. Nash basically wanders around throughout the show, like a kid on a playground looking for acceptance from the popular kids. On most of the songs he didn't play any instrument, just sang, and wandered. And then after nearly every song, he would walk out on the front apron of the stage with both hands over his head, pumping both fists. As if everyone in the audience was cheering only for him. It was awesome. Stills nearly fell over at least 3 times... once notably as he was trying to do some sort of Angus Young/Chuck Berry guitar hop.

Overall the show was good, but they played way too many "ballads". Hell they had to take an intermission break for a caffeine injection (they all came back out on stage with coffee mugs). Their own set was putting THEM to sleep.

If you really want some entertainment, go to the CSNY website www.csny.net and read some of the reviews of the show. These people saw a completely different show than me. Maybe because I'm only in my late 30's. The average age at the show (including the band) was probably in the late 40's, early 50's!
